What to avoid when creating a News item or Press Release

Elements of this page are preformatted and/or preset including headline text, contact information, and company contact information. Try to use the default styling for the body and description areas.

Avoid using:

  • fonts other than Roboto.
  • text that is not uniform in size.
  • link colors other than the Liebert brand color. This includes gray or blue underlines.
  • text colors other than dark gray (with the exception of links).
  • horizontal rules above or below the body or description text.

Try to use:

  • #333333 for text color
  • #892035 for link color

Tips and tools:

Make sure to strip out any inline styling or extraneous html tags which may be applied by email templates and text editors including Microsoft Word. These would include any <span> or <tbody><table><tr><td> elements. Removing them will allow the default styling to be applied.

HTML Cleaner is a free, online tool that makes it easy to remove those extra elements: http://www.html-cleaner.com

STEP 1
If copying text from an email, click the “View in Browser” or the “View this email online” link. Select desired text, copy, and visit the HTML Cleaner website. Paste your text in the box to the left as show below.

STEP 2
Make sure you’ve chose the following cleaning options:

STEP 3
Click the “Clean HTML” button—bottom of the right hand box.

STEP 4
Moving back to the box on the left, select the text. Inside the Liebert Admin, create an entry for your new Press Release item, and you’re ready to paste your cleaned text into the Content area.
