New Package Checklist

This checklist covers all the steps for creating a new package.  

Marketing

  • Setup Microsite in AdminHome 
    • Don’t connect the parts of the package until the package is live on the site  
    • Coordinate with editorial on copy and content for the package 
    • Add content to: Aims And Scope, Ed Board, For Authors, Affiliations, Assets, Pub Data, Tools & Tips 
  • Need cover from designers (Dianne’s team) 
  • Create hero image with IT designers 
  • Confirm package name is uniform across the site 
  • Discuss redirects where necessary 
  • Confirm set up in email marketing system and make any changes needed 
  • Send out notification email to audience about the new site 

•Operations/Fulfillment 

  • Set up pricing for package in ACS 
  • Select the dropdowns on the pricing page in adminhome and promote the active rates so IT can fill in the prices in the DB, 
  • Create Package Pricing Sheet for Admin Home and send to IT 
  • If a package is created from an already existing journal, advise IT for how renewals for subscribers to that journal will be handled 
  • Review and update renewal text if subscribers will be renewing to that journal  

IT 

  • Setup Licensing in Atypon 
  • If the package is created from an existing journal and subscribers will renew to it:  
    • Write code for ecomm to put the package in the cart not the journal made from it when customers come from the cart link in the renewal emails or go directly to www.liebertpub.com/renew and look up their subscriptions manually 
    • Redirect journal pricing pages to the package pricing pages 
  • Create the package in adminhome so markering can set up the microsite 
  • Create redirects (find out from Marketing and Customer Service how they need to function) 
  • Add package pricing into DB so it appears in Adminhome after it exists in ACS and after Operations/Fullfillment updates the pricing page and promotes the active rates in AdminHome 
    • Test the effective date of the new Pricing Rates (like does it kick in and pull the proper rates/allocations during testing) 
  • Update the Renewal-related queries 
    • From Ecommerce: MAL_RENEW_EC 
    • From CS: MAL_RENEW_CS 
    • From Renewal Campaign Manager: MAL_RENEW_FOR_RENEWAL_CAMPAIGN 
  • Testing
    • Test that the package can be purchased  
    • Test the allocation Package allocation/split for individual publications, especially if is different from last year by putting through test orders to see how the funds are split in ACS 
    • Test renewals if the package will be renewable right after its creation
