How to create a product

Start by logging into https://www.insideprecisionmedicine.com/ by either adding /login to the end of the url or clicking the log in link on the top right of the site.

Then go to the dashboard by hovering over Inside Precision Medicine the top left of the site and selecting Dashboard from the menu that drops down.

Once you are in the dashboard, find products from the left hand vertical navigation and hover over it to reveal a submenu, then click Add New:

Product Title and Company Name

Add the product title. You need to add the company name then one space then the product name in this box:

Then you need to click the pencil icon then click in between the Sponsor name and the product name:

If you make a mistake, click the triangle under the dashed line (it will turn green to show it is selected) then the red box with an X in it to the left of the field name:

You can repeat the above steps until you get dashed line in the correct place. When you get it right, it will look like this on the product page:

The above steps are the only way to achieve that. So play with it until you like what you see then move to the next section.

Features & Specs

The next section on the Add Product or Edit product screen is the description, which is pulled into the Features and Specs section on the product page:

You enter it into  the module under the title in admin:

Yoast SEO

The next module down is the Yoast SEO module, where you can set how the product will appear in Google searches and social media if shared.

This module is where you feature a product. There's a separate walk-through for that here that goes through it in depth if you need to feature the product.

Omeda Product Module

This module is used for the IPM newsletter generator created by John Laliberte. It is not used yet for products. So skip over this module.

Posters and Papers Module

If there are posters and papers for this product, click the Add Row button to add a new row:

If there is a pdf file or something to download, click the Add File button on the left, then follow the prompts to either upload the file or select it from the media library if it has already been uploaded previously:

Next add the title in the Title field:

If you did NOT add a pdf, then add a url in the External Link box:

If you need to remove a row, click the minus button:

And that's it. Repeat the steps as necessary until all the Papers and Posters have been added for this product.

Videos Module

The Videos Module works similarly to the Papers and Posters module. It's where you enter Videos and Webinars. To begin, click the Add Row button:

Enter the url for the video in the Video box:

If you are embedding a video, you must use the following format and replace the X with the embed code sent by the sponsor:

If the link you entered is a link out to a video hosted on another site, click the external site, you MUST click the External check box:

Add the video title in the Video Title field:

And that's it. Repeat the steps as necessary until all the Videos and Webinars have been added for this product.

Product Data Module

Here's where you add the info request button. Click the drop down and select External/Affiliate:

Next, enter any url in the Product URL field and in the Button Text field, enter Request Information:

Product short description:

Here's where you enter the description which appears at the top of the product page:

This section requires some html formatting to get the address in a block and the logo.

You want to click the text tab above, paste in the code below under the descriptive text provided by the sponsor and update it:

Final Steps

Scroll up and set the Product Image by clicking the Set Product Image link and follow the steps for uploading or choosing an image from the media library:

Choose your categories in the Product Categories module:
