Performance Guidelines

  • If using a bookmark, check to make sure It’s set to https://login.salesforce.com/
  • If using an old bookmark, this could be routing you through a slower salesforce server
  • Use the Sales Console tab Exclusively for opportunity navigation if you’re experiencing slow performance
  • Reduce the # of tabs you have open, this has a direct relation to page performance
  • Reduce the # of background programs you have open.

Salesforce Lightning uses more hardware resources to run in comparison to Classic. This means that if you don’t have sufficient resources available, your page performance could be affected.

How to test your hardware resources for Mac Users:

  • Press Command + Spacebar to bring up the spotlight search field
  • Type Activity Monitor and Click it
  • See how much CPU and Memory Usage you have before starting salesforce. This is your available resources.
  • If you notice anything close to 100%, you may have too many programs open. Try closing a few before starting salesforce
  • Open salesforce and log in as you would typically. See how much available resources you have between CPU and Memory

Still logging in to Salesforce Classic?

  • Make sure you’ve edited or re-created your bookmark in step 1 above.
  • Log in as you would normally
  • If your default page is classic, switch to salesforce lightning
  • In the upper right hand corner where your icon is, click this and select ‘Log Out’
  • Try logging back in
  • If you’ve logged out of Salesforce Lightning successfully, upon login you will  automatically go to the Lightning Home Page by default.
