Ads (banner advertisements)
A banner advertisement is comprised of a single fixed creative/ image file (with one backup creative if applicable), a single fixed URL and – in the case of keyword-based ad options – applied to a single keyword.
Ad Campaigns
An Ad Campaign is a way to define a single marketing endeavor by a single advertiser. This endeavor could be made up of a single Ad Package containing one or more ads or multiple Ad Packages representing a variety of zoned positions. The term "endeavor" is open to interpretation but traditionally refers to a single product/service or group of related products and/or services. It could, however, just as easily refer to a time frame where ads are served for any assortment of the advertiser's products and services. (i.e. Bio-Rad wants 2 ROS leaderboard ads, six 300x250 ROS ads, four Keywords sponsorships for the skyscraper, etc)
Ad HTML Text
The HTML for text ads. It Includes all the links and image references necessary for the ad to appear the way the sponsor wants it to.
Ad Packages
An Ad Package is a vehicle for keeping track of one or more of a single advertiser's ad(s) running in the same position and zone either concurrently, overlapping, or simultaneously via rotation. Ad Packages are the solution to the previous practice of swapping out creatives and editing URLs which hinders our ability to maintain an accurate history of ads per advertiser.
Specific features:
  • Impressions are set on the package level so they can be accurately distributed and recorded throughout the ads within the package.
  • The number of ads allowed within a package is only limited by the total impressions set for a package.
  • The number of ads allowed within a package is only limited by the total impressions set for a package.
  • The number of packages within a zoned position is only limited by the total monthly impressions set for that zoned position.
