Customer # Update

Moving forward, Customer #'s will need to be selected within each opportunity. Prior to this implementation, Customer #'s were an account field in which each account could only have one customer #. With this system, one account can have multiple customer #'s.

Example: Harvard has 10 different accounts, with 10 different customer #'s. In this update, we will have 1 Harvard with 10 different Customer #'s

1. You will still be able to search by Customer # and link to the Account.
2. All Conga Quoting & Invoicing will check to see if there's a Customer #, if not it will use the Account's Billing Address.
3. Opportunities linked to Agencies will continue to pull the Agency address information into Quotes & Invoices.
4. The only time Customer #'s will need to be linked to Opportunities is with the creation of a brand new Opportunity, or if the Account already has an applicable customer #.

All current & previous opportunities that have customer #'s will automatically be updated with this new system, including when we clone opportunitys over to the new year.

The Process

For brand new clitents, you probably won't have a customer # since it hasn't been generated yet. Thats absolutely fine. Pipeline opportunities dont "need" to have a customer number; however, if one is applicable it needs to be used.

1. When the Opportunity becomes 'Closed Won', the Customer # must be added. Any opportunities that are Closed Won missing a Customer # will be marked & included in the user's cleanup page on the HomePage.

2. If the Opportunity has been 'Closed Won' for 5 Days and still doesn't have a Customer # --> The Sales Rep will recieve an eMail about the Opportunity.
